ADVENTURECluster Preprocessor
Analysis examples of ADVENTURECluster.

Patch-based automatic repair of surface defect by ADVENTURECluster Builder
  • ADVENTURECluster Builder has a patch-based automatic repair function of surface defects. This function shows its capability when a STL model file is imported.

  • An example is shown. Fig.1 is the full view of the model. Its format is STL type. The original model is provided by Integrated Volume-CAD System Program at RIKEN.

  • This model has many free-edges or defects of surface patches. The left side of the Fig.2 shows the defects that ADVENTURECluster Builder detected. The free-edges are drawn in blue. There are gaps, and some verteces of the triangles are incorrectly connected. The right side of the this figure is the obtained result by the automatic repair function of ADVENTURECluster Builder. The free-edges and gaps are removed, and the conectivity is recoverd correctly. The right side image tells clearly the defects on the left figure.

  • We show another part in Fig.3. Two front sides of rectangular-shaped solid are completely dropped out. The right side of this figure is the obtained result by the automatic repair function of ADVENTURECluster Builder. The deficient faces are covered, and correct patches are obtained.

  • Finally, ADVENTURECluster Builder generates the mesh by the repaired surface patches. The result is shown in Fig.4.
