• Precision of FE analysis depends on the quality of the mesh, and the quality of the mesh depends largely on the quality of the surface mesh. We show here an example of triangular surface mesh generation. However, since mesh generation of a solid model starts from a surface mesh, users do not need to care about the surface mesh, and cannot distinguish between surface mesh and mesh, as far as taking a look from the outside.

• Model
  The model here is a difficult example of mesh generation. The bow of a pair of spectacles is modeled in fine detail, and the surface mesh is genarated from the IGES file. CAD model is shown in Fig.1.

• Result
  Surface mesh obtained is shown in Fig.2. The number of the nodes and triangular patches are 494,370 and 989,480, respectively. Each group of the paches is painted in different color, and black lines are drawn on the boundaries bwtween the groups.
